Why Me?
I'm Jeanne, the heart behind The Bikini Bookkeeper!
Even before the advent of cloud accounting, mobile apps, and QuickBooks Online, I was learning business bookkeeping the traditional way.
At just 15, I was helping out in my family's hair salon, managing payroll, inventory, reconciliations, point-of-sale systems, and all the daily financial tasks that keep a small business thriving. It was there that I learned a valuable lesson: behind every successful business is someone paying close attention to the numbers.
Over the years, I've been fortunate to assist friends, colleagues, attorneys, court reporters, engineers, and many others in tidying up their books, organizing financial records, or catching up when things got behind. I genuinely enjoyed helping them achieve clarity in their financial management, which can often feel overwhelming.
For the past 25 years, my work has centered on financial stewardship, compliance, and operational management in public universities, overseeing millions of dollars in grants and contracts, building financial systems, and supporting researchers to ensure their budgets and funding are handled accurately and responsibly.
Now, I'm excited to return to where I began: helping businesses understand and shape their finances through professional bookkeeping. I started The Bikini Bookkeeper because I love Sarasota and our beach way of life, and, more importantly, I believe local businesses need more than just transaction processing; they need a partner who values accuracy, organization, and accountability, guiding them to stay on track.
